In Ahsoka episode 8, Baylan is standing atop the statue of the Father, a character from Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 3 who dwelled in the mysterious realm of Mortis along with his children, the Son and the Daughter. He believes that the struggle for power in the galaxy will be endless if he doesn’t take action to end it himself, and now it appears he may have found the ancient power needed to put an end to the strife once and for all. Even though Baylan assisted Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth and feigned loyalty to Thrawn, his true motive was to discover the truth behind the stories he heard at the Jedi Temple as a child. Throughout the Ahsoka series, Baylan has hinted that he’s looking for some sort of power beyond the Jedi and Sith, which was theorized to be Abeloth from Star Wars Legends. ![]() But despite Baylan’s brief appearance, the statues he found finally answer the question of what he’s been searching for on Peridea. Instead of focusing on Baylan Skoll’s plan, showrunner Dave Filoni chose to end the series with Thrawn’s escape, along with Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Ahsoka Tano’s attempt at stopping him. ![]() Ray Stevenson’s mysterious character was absent for most of the finale after quietly slipping away during Ahsoka episode 7. ![]() In the climactic Ahsoka finale, Baylan Skoll is briefly seen standing atop a pair of statues reminiscent of the Argonath from The Lord of the Rings.
